Almira & Don Clark

2005

The Henry Decoy Show was organized by Don and Almira Clark in 1968 and has become an annual event attracting hundreds of enthusiasts from several states to view, show, buy, sell, and trade old duck and goose decoys, game calls, contemporary carvings, books, paintings and other related collectibles.  The first show was held in the Henry American Legion building in 1968. In six short years it outgrew that facility and was moved to St. Mary’s Center where it remained for over twenty years until 1996 when more room was needed and it was moved to the present location at the High School.  Over the years, the Clarks planned and coordinated each event including preparing and serving sandwiches, drinks and delicious desserts for the growing numbers that attended. Susan and Bruce Bauter began coordinating the show in 2005, and continue to carry on the tradition established by the Clarks.  Don Clark passed away on December 16, 2009. His presence and influence is missed in the decoy collecting community and especially at the Henry Decoy Show.
